MULTIMEDIA SHOWROOM DESIGN
We assist architects and stand builders in the creation of multimedia showrooms. Our contribution consists in identifying the most suitable technologies for the type of communication requested and for the set-up project. We focus on the identification of durable and easy-to-maintain technologies, combining the latest technologies with simplified management systems and remote assistance.
The integration of multimedia technologies inside a showroom always has two aspects to deal with: fulfilling the communicative functionality they were requested for and integrating with the setup so that technology blends with the environment.
To achieve these two conditions at best, the design work is fundamental, and it must involve both the client and the designer.
Both figures are involved in the verification steps, from the presentation of the initial drafts to the fulfillment of the detailed project.
The document of the project contains:
• The definition of the physical installation, the integration with the installment and the hardware involved.
• The definition of the content, through an opening storyboard.
• The definition of the user’s experience, and its possible variations determined by their interactions with the installation.
• The definition of a project timeline ending with the testing phase.
We apply the same process when designing store interiors. Commercial areas usually show very similar aspects to multimedia showrooms when it comes to their design.
CONSULTING AND SUPPORT REGARDING NEW TECHNOLOGIES
An important part of the design phase is choosing which technologies to employ in a digital showroom. Technology must be correctly applied according to the needs, purposes, and availability. There is not a perfect pre-set technology, but there is the perfect choice for the client’s project. When designing a showroom, we pay particular attention to the Internet connection to ensure a high-quality remote assistance and the possibility to communicate with the outside through a virtual showroom.
While the design phase takes place, the client must gather all the materials needed to produce the content.
The production process may involve the creation of video footage, graphics, infographics, as well as three-dimensional models. The processing time is defined by the timeline traced during the design phase. The client and the designer are constantly updated on the progress of the project and involved in the revision phases.
When it comes to showrooms and stores, clients often request content that can be updated remotely; in this case we offer back-office and ready-made templates to facilitate customer content management over time.
The software defines how the experience should interact with the user. The quality of the software is particularly important where the user is involved in the content. We do not develop the software in outsourcing but in-house because we believe that it is the fundamental framework of the installation and that the experience can be truly effective only if it works well under every respect. The possibility to develop a virtual showroom represents a way to reach the public who cannot access the physical showroom, as well as a medium to deliver remote presentations that directly involve both the users and the showroom exhibitor.
